How to install Windows 11
Before we start we must do some quick things.Reset your bios incase you changed anything and turn on secure boot and UEFI boot.Now download the windows 11 ISO file and download Rufus from Rufus.ie and open Rufus. Then press Win + E to open the windows explorer and drag your ISO file into Rufus. Then select your USB flash drive, and if you want to you can rename the drive in Rufus, but now you can press “START” to start flashing the ISO to your USB flash drive.Now that you have the USB ready and your BIOS is setup correctly, you can start by plugging in your mouse and keyboard, the USB (with the ISO flashed to it), display and power. And turn on the PC, where now set the main boot drive to the USB and boot into the USB.In the windows setup before clicking next change the 3 long boxes to what you prefer, It should be language, Keyboard layout and time/currency. Now press next and click Install Now, now if you own a Dell or HP laptop a digital key from Microsoft's server may already be applied, but if not, you can press "I dont have a product key" (on older installers) or enter in your Product Key which can be found on the side or the back of your computer.Now you must select the version of windows 11 you want, Some ISO's may not have this menu but if it does, I'd go for the Pro (but thats just my opinion). Then check the Agree box to agree the terms of service or whatever microsoft says.Now you can choose if you want to upgrade from an earlier version of windows to windows 11 or if you want to do a clean brand new spanking squeaky mr. clean install of windows 11. Now if you chose the clean install of windows you can choose the parition/drive you want to install windows 11 on and wipe other partitions/drives aswell, but sometimes you have to mess with the drive a little bit lol.Now that windows is installing, if you want to you can just stand up, walk to your front door, go outside, and touch grass, but that might be impossible for some people. Like me :(.
How to install TrueNAS
Before we start we must do some first things.On the PC or Server rack being used, make sure that secure boot is off and you are using AHCI mode and the system is connected to Ethernet or internet.Then using Rufus on Windows (which you can install on Rufus.ie) Download the trueNAS iso file from TrueNAS’s website, and put the iso into Rufus. Now you can if you want to, rename the drive or check for bad blocks, then you can press start to flash the iso to the flash drive.After doing these first steps, you can start by plugging in your keyboard, USB flash drive (with TrueNAS installer), display and power. Make sure that the USB flash drive is the main boot device, then boot into it. Where then you’ll be greeted with a blue menu where then you do the first option to install TrueNAS.Then if you wait a little bit you’ll be greeted by yet another blue menu with, Install/Upgrade TrueNAS, Shell, Restart and shutdown. Choose Install/Upgrade TrueNAS, and select your drive(s) and press start.After the installer is done installing the operating system, Reboot the system and eject your USB flash drive safely. Then after the restart you should be seeing an option list with 10 options, if you see this, you have installed TrueNAS to your system.At the top of the screen you should see “http:// (address)” Or “https:// (address)”, if you go to the website you’ll see a login window. Where now you can enter in the password to submitted in the installer. On the website you can see Ram and cpu activity, and some more weird wacky nerd stuff.Thank you for using my guide, have a good day.
